Lima's Yarn

About Lima

When I think about Lima, "piggy" comes to mind.  If Lima thinks there is food involved, she will follow you anywhere.  And, she has been like that since the day she was born!  Once, Lima got so carried away in her quest for more food that she ducked under Ben's legs to get to her first love - instead of walking around him.  Ben ended up getting a short ride on Lima's back until he fell off.

When Lima was a baby (cria) Katy and Ben would put grain in their pockets and Lima would stick her nose in there for her prize.  After much debate, we opted against training her to be a pick pocket.

Lima was able to control her ravenous hunger long enough to win several blue ribbons and a Reserve Championship in the show ring.  She truly has fleece to die for.  Mette, from Ranch of the Oaks, where I had Lima's fiber processed into yarn, called me during the process.  Mette informed me that she had a group of friends over who were drooling over Lima's yarn.  "This is what we all should be breeding for, "was Mette's comment.

So, now Lima is all grown up and still produces an amazingly soft and dense fleece.  Her yarn is lovely.
